Application Advice: injection pump belt PSA 2.7 engines

Following vehicle models all use the same PSA 2.7 diesel engine and have the same 5624XS timing belt installed: Citroën C5, Citroën C5 Estate/break, Citroën C6, Jaguar S-type, Jaguar XF, Jaguar XJ6, Peugeot 407, Peugeot 407 Coupe, Peugeot 407 SW, Peugeot 607, Land Rover Discover, Land Rover Range Rover Sport.

However, Land Rover has made changes to the installation of the injection pump when moving from the 2.7 liter EURO 2/3 to the EURO 4 diesel engine, resulting in the need for a shorter timing belt with only 82 teeth to drive the injection pump.

Our recommendation: Never place a 5625XS timing belt on a Land Rover Discovery or Land Rover Range Rover Sport injection pump of a 2.7 liter EURO 4 diesel engine: these engines require the 5677XS timing belt with fewer teeth.
